If you’re looking for family-friendly skiing accommodation in Zakopane, then you won’t be short on options.
But finding accommodation that ticks all the boxes for families with kids takes a lot of searching for.
After lots of research, we found the perfect family-friendly ski-to-door accommodation in the skiing resort of Bialka Tatrzanska near Zakopane.
Rabian SKI Aparthotel definitely wins for its ski-to-door location being right on the Kaniówka slope.
It also has an amazing indoor children’s play area and free childcare, that your kids will love!
And the apartments are modern, stylish, well equipped and your breakfast gets brought to your room every morning.
As a family of five, this accommodation really does have everything to take the stress out of skiing holidays with kids.

Getting to Rabian SKI in Bialka Tatrzanska, Zakopane
Rabian SKI Aparthotel is located on the Kaniówka slope of the Bialka Tatrzańska ski resort near Zakopane.
This is our third time in Zakopane and the previous two visits, we stayed in Zakopane itself and travelled to the Bialka Tatrzańska ski resort each day.
This time, staying at the resort was much more convenient and relaxing particularly with three kids. It also meant we could maximise our skiing time and have breaks whenever we wanted.
The easiest and fastest way to get to Rabian SKI Aparthotel or to Bialka Tatrzańska ski resort is to hire a car. As a family of five this worked out more cost efficient.
Alternatively, you can download and use the Bolt app to simply book a transfer, which is also really simple (we used this in Kraków ). From Krakow, the journey takes just under an hour and a half and from Zakopane, about 30 minutes.
Alternatively, you could take a FlixBus from any location in Poland to the Bialka Tatrzańska ski resort.
Ski-to-door location
This is the first time we’ve stayed in ski-to-door accommodation and with kids, it is a massive bonus!
Skiing families out there will know the pain of walking with kids in ski boots whilst trying to carry everyone’s skis, poles and everything else!
The ski lift is just 10 metres from the door so getting to the slope was effortless.
There is a magic carpet for the little skiers and a button lift which takes you to the top of the slope, where you can then take other lifts connecting to the rest of the Bialka Tatrzańska resort.
Having the ski slope and lift right next to our accommodation meant we didn’t have to take extra bags with us. We could take regular breaks and ski until the lifts closed in the evening.
Ski hire and storage
Rabian SKI Aparthotel have their own ski rental so on our first day, we simply walked downstairs and got kitted up without even leaving the building.
This is another part of family skiing holidays that is often hard work but getting our ski rental this time was so easy.
As you’d expect, they have their own ski equipment storage room so at the end of each skiing session we walked the few metres from the slope to our accommodation, took our boots off and walked up the stairs to our apartment.
Ski lessons and ski passess
Ski lessons are also conveniently available just outside the Rabian SKI accommodation from Ski Banda. However, we booked through Snow Club who are located on the next slope along as they had more English speaking instructors available. You can either walk across to Snow Club , which takes about 5 minutes or get the lift up and ski down.
Ski passes are also available to buy right outside the Rabian SKI accommodation and are the same price as online, so would recommend buying them there.
Top Tip
Ski passes can be bought for 4 hours, by day or number of days and there are separate adult and child prices (under 16 years). For children under 5 years old, a “Child with Adult) pass can be purchased for PLN10 per day.
Children’s play area and ball pit:
Zakopane caters very well for children and Rabian SKI certainly made our kids happy when it came to the indoor play area.
There is a whole room downstairs just for the kids, with a huge soft play area and ball pit as well as table football, air hockey table and more.
Even our 12-year-old was torn between skiing and the play area.
Free childcare
We’ve stayed at other ski accommodation before that have offered both free and paid childcare.
Rabian SKI offers free childcare but upon availability. As we visited outside of the Polish school holidays we were able to get three hours in the afternoon, each day.
However, to avoid disappointment I would perhaps email beforehand to secure availability.
A lovely girl called Anna looked after our girls for three hours each day. She spoke English and played with them for the whole time in the play area. The girls really looked forward to seeing her each day.
Breakfast brought to your room
This was definitely a first for us and I wasn’t sure I’d like it as much as leaving our room and going to a buffet breakfast.
However, keeping consistent with this skiing holiday, having breakfast delivered to our room was just another perk that made our day easy and relaxed.
It meant no pressure on getting the kids up and ready for breakfast. They could just roll out of bed and eat like they would at home.
The breakfasts were varied and plentiful, consisting of breads, cold meats, cheese, cucumber, tomatoes, eggs, fish, pancakes and pastries. Every day there was enough left over to make sandwiches for lunch.
Our apartment
There is a range of apartments to choose from suiting couples and families or groups of up to 8 people.
Our room had one bedroom with a double and single bed, a kitchen/dining area with a double sofa bed and bathroom.
The apartment was equipped with everything we needed including cooking utensils, dishwasher, microwave oven, induction hob and fridge freezer.
Free coffee machine
A perk that definitely kept my husband happy was the coffee machine in the reception that offered unlimited free coffee round the clock.
Shops and restaurants nearby
During the 4 nights we stayed in Bialka Tatrzańska, we ate in twice and ate out at restaurants twice.
There is a great pizza restaurant called Tatra Gusto, 750 metres walk at the bottom of the road. Or if you fancy traditional Polish food, a little further along the main road (1.8 km), there is a lovely restaurant called Karczma Litworowy Staw.
There is also a shop on the main road, 1.4 km / 20 min walk from Rabian SKI accommodation.
However, if you have a car there are plenty more shops and restaurants further along the main road through the Bialka Tatrzańska ski resort.
Final thoughts on in Rabian SKI family-friendly ski accommodation...
With the slopes, ski lift, ski rental, ski lessons and passes all available from inside or just outside Rabian SKI accommodation, you really do have everything on your doorstep.
Not having to walk or drive to the slopes made our family skiing holiday so much more convenient and stress free.
Rabian SKI accommodation is perfectly located with direct access to the slopes of the Bialka Tatrzańska ski resort, along with nearby shops and restaurants.
The accommodation is modern, clean, reasonably priced and great for kids.
We we will definitely stay here again if we come back to Bialka Tatrzańska near Zakopane.
