REVIEW: Family Apartment Near Zieleniec Ski Resort – Poland
If you’re planning a skiing trip to Zieleniec ski resort near Wrocław in Poland and need a modern apartment large enough for a family of up to six, then Słoneczny Apartament is a fantastic option.
Staying in Zieleniec itself can be expensive, with limited availability and few choices for bigger families. This apartment, located just a 10-minute drive from the ski resort, gives you the flexibility to get to the slopes either by car or via the super handy Zieleniec ski bus, which runs three times a day.
We stayed here for four nights on a family ski trip, and in this post, we’ll share our honest review and recommendation if you’re looking for a lovely, family-friendly base near Zieleniec.

Getting to Słoneczny Apartament
Słoneczny Apartament is located in the spa town of Duszniki-Zdrój, just 10 minutes from Zieleniec Ski Arena. The nearest airport is Wrocław, and flights are often cheap from the UK to this airport.
Whether you’re travelling directly from the airport or from Wrocław itself, you can get there by hire car, train, bus, or Bolt taxi. The journey takes just over one and a half to two hours, with the bus usually taking a little longer.
When travelling with kids, hiring a car or taking the train tends to be the easiest and most stress-free option. We’ve used the train, hired a car and used a Bolt taxi and would choose the train or car. You can read more about how to use each method in our guide to visiting Zieleniec Ski Resort.
Apartment Overview
The apartment is part of a large traditional building typical of Duszniki-Zdrój, with several apartments inside. The building has a classic wooden structure and a charming, spacious feel that fits in perfectly with the town’s style.
Inside, the apartment was a perfect fit for our family. It has two bedrooms: one with a double bed for us, and a second with two single beds for our 5 and 9-year-old. In the kitchen/living area, there’s a double sofa bed which our 13-year-old slept in. The bedrooms have plenty of storage for clothing, so even with a family of five, we had more than enough room.

The kitchen and living area is spacious enough to cook and relax, with a separate dining area by the window overlooking the park. The apartment is modern, clean, and cosy, including the bathroom and a small room for cleaning equipment. The only thing we couldn’t find was a brush and dustpan, but there was a vacuum cleaner.

Overall, the apartment was spacious, quiet, warm, and very clean. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and never felt cramped or under each other’s feet — perfect for our family ski holiday.
Super Child-Friendly Apartment
This apartment is fantastic for kids. The second bedroom had kids-themed bedding on the single beds, which our 5 and 9-year-old loved! There were plenty of games, toys, books, and LEGO tucked away in the cupboards to keep everyone entertained. Our older two girls loved playing draughts, while our youngest enjoyed building with LEGO and reading the books.
The lovely host even brought brand-new dolls as a gift for the children, which was such a lovely touch.
Host Contact and Apartment Access
Our host was in touch before our arrival to provide all the information we needed. She was incredibly helpful, sharing clear instructions, images, and even videos to guide us to the apartment by car. One thing to be aware of is that the host does message in Polish and doesn’t really speak English. However, this wasn’t an issue as we simply used Google Translate, which worked perfectly.
The videos were really useful for identifying the parking area and apartment entrance, so we felt confident arriving even in though it was the middle of the night. The host was also very helpful when we messaged her for information on the ski bus. She came over to provide us with ski bus passes which allowed us to take advantage of the local price of PLN 5 / £1 per person (instead of the tourist fare of PLN 15 / £3) and sending a photo of the nearest bus stop.
Exploring Duszniki-Zdrój
As we spent most of our time at Zieleniec Ski Resort, we didn’t spend a lot of time exploring the town. However, if you choose to stay in this apartment or elsewhere in Duszniki-Zdrój, we have a few things recommendations:
- Dino Supermarket – there are a few supermarkets but this one has more choice and is bigger – 500 metres away.
- Piekarnia Bakery – amazing bakery with fresh bread that they will slice for you and amazing cakes and sweet treats – 250 metres away.
- Eden Restaurant – this is a very good restaurant offering pizzas, traditional Polish dishes, and kid-friendly meals – 200 metres away.
- Park and outdoor space – right outside the apartment, there’s a small green area where kids can run around or play in the snow.
- Ski Bus Stop – there are several ski bus stops in Duszniki-Zdrój, but the closest is 200 metres away.
- Duszniki-Zdrój Train Station – 15 minute walk.

Final Thoughts on Słoneczny Apartament
Staying directly at Zieleniec Ski Resort is convenient, with ski-in ski-out accommodation available, but it’s often expensive and limited in choice. In our opinion, staying in nearby Duszniki-Zdrój is the next best option. It will probably cost you about a third of what you’d pay in Zieleniec and offers more accommodation choices as well as cheaper options for eating out and supermarkets.
If you’re planning a family ski trip to Zieleniec, Słoneczny Apartament is an excellent choice. It’s spacious, modern, and family-friendly, with comfortable bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, plenty of space to relax, and thoughtful touches for kids. The location is convenient for both driving and using the ski bus to reach Zieleniec Ski Arena, but being based in Duszniki-Zdrój provides shops, restaurants, and a peaceful setting to unwind after a day on the slopes.
We would highly recommend this apartment for families looking for comfort, convenience, and great value for a ski holiday in Zieleniec, Poland.
